Archeology Adventures

There are a number of prehistoric and ancient sites in the four corners area, it is often overwhelming if you know where to look.  Unless the site is under strict control, such as Mesa Verde, locations are generally not made available to the public.  The best way to gain access is to join a local Archeology group.  I belong to the Chipeta chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society.  Historic Archeology is often easier to come by, though these structures will never last as long as many of the prehistoric structures, they are still impressive.  There are still some remote, little known of spots that when you reach them will leave you in aw of what man can accomplish.
